Jeremy Renner secures return to Hollywood after near-accident

In early 2023, actor Jeremy Renner’s life was in grave danger after he accidentally ran over himself with a snow blower, which almost ended in death. However, 18 months later, Renner was able to secure his return to Hollywood.

While on vacation in January 2023, Renner attempted to pull a family member’s car out of a blanket of snow. Tragically, he was struck and run over by the snow removal machine, but fortunately, Renner was able to be flown by helicopter to the hospital where he was treated for blunt chest injuries. Although his condition was listed as critical, he miraculously made a full recovery.

Initially, returning to acting wasn’t high on Renner’s agenda, and his health was all that mattered to him. After spending 2023 recovering, Renner recently returned to his role in the Paramount+ series. Mayor of Kingstownwhich is set to premiere on June 2nd, and now he has been cast in Rian Johnson’s upcoming Knife out Movie.

Revealing news of the upcoming film, Johnson said: “I love everything about crime, but what I love most is the malleability of the genre. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and being able to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc films.”

The snow plow accident could have caused Renner to turn his back on Hollywood and end his career prematurely, but instead it gave the actor new momentum.

During an emotional visit to The Tonight Show with Jimmy FallonRenner spoke about the “wonderful lessons” he learned from that traumatic event. He continued, “There are so many great gifts when you’re pushed to your limits, aren’t there? To the physical limits, to the mental limits, to the emotional limits. I’m not going to have a bad day for the rest of my life. That’s impossible. That’s a gift.”

Renner also noted that it taught him “not to panic and to focus.” If he lost his nerve under the pressure, it could have been fatal. He noted, “I just had to breathe. If I didn’t breathe, I would have been gone. Forget the eyeball and all the titanium and the broken bones. It doesn’t matter, does it? So if you think about it step by step, I think it’s a really good reminder of what we all need to look for in life.”
