Josh Peck finally speaks about the sexual harassment of his co-star Drake Bell

After days of fan reactions to his silence, Josh Peck has now spoken out about the sexual harassment of his Drake and Josh Co-star Drake Bell from an acting teacher.

In a statement posted on social media, Peck expressed his support for Bell and other survivors of child sexual abuse who were featured in the documentary. Peace on set: The dark side of children’s televisionwhich dealt with the alleged abuse of child actors at Nickelodeon by the adults responsible for them.

“I have the Peace on set “I watched the documentary and took a few days to process it. I have reached out to Drake privately, but wanted to offer my support to the survivors who were brave enough to share their stories of emotional and physical abuse on Nickelodeon sets with the world,” he wrote on Thursday.

A day earlier, Bell posted on TikTok in response to his fans’ negative reaction to his co-star Peck, urging them to “go easy on him” and clarifying that Peck had reached out privately.

In his statement, Peck expressed hope that the documentary would bring about change in Hollywood, where child actors are particularly at risk.

“Children must be protected. It is incredibly difficult to relive this publicly, but I hope it can bring healing to the victims and their families and bring about the change our industry needs,” he wrote.

Bell revealed in the documentary that he was the minor who testified against his dialogue coach Brian Peck (no relation to Josh Peck) in 2003, who subsequently served 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of child sexual abuse and was required to register as a sex offender.. Bell was 15 years old at the time of his testimony.
