Officials: The bodies of all workers killed in the Baltimore Key Bridge collapse have now been recovered

BALTIMORE (WRIC) – The body of the sixth worker killed The collapse of the Baltimore Francis Scott Key Bridge was recovered Tuesday, ending a search that lasted more than a month.

Accordingly a press release According to Maryland state officials, the body of 37-year-old José Mynor López of Baltimore was found by recovery teams on Tuesday, May 7. He was the last man missing since the collapse in late March.

“It is with a heavy heart that today marks a significant milestone in our efforts to provide reconstruction and closure for the families of the six workers who lost their lives in this tragic event,” said Col. Roland Butler Jr., the Maryland Department superintendent of state police, in the news release.

Lopez and five other construction workers tasked with repairs to the bridge on the morning of March 26 tragically died following the collapse caused by the container ship Dali crashing into one of the bridge’s supports.

“As we mourn with the families, we honor the memory of José Mynor López, Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, Carlos Daniel Hernandez Estrella and Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez,” Butler said.
