MONTHLY SIREN AND EMERGENCY WARNING SYSTEM TEST FOR JUNE 2024

HONOLULU – The monthly test of the statewide all-hazards outdoor siren system is scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:45 a.m. The siren test will be coordinated with a test of the emergency alert system’s live audio broadcast segment.

During this monthly test, all nationwide outdoor warning sirens will sound for one minuteAttention warning signal (continuous tone). At about the same time as the monthly sirens sound, a test of the live audio broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System will be conducted in conjunction with the Hawaii Broadcasting Industry. There will be no drills or exercises to accompany the test.

The All-Hazard Public Safety Outdoor Siren Warning System is a part of Hawaii’s statewide warning and alert system used to notify the public of emergencies. If you hear this siren sound under circumstances other than a test, follow emergency information and instructions provided by official government channels. These may be in the form of a broadcast from a local radio or television station and/or a wireless emergency alert via cell phones.

Wireless emergency alerts send audio and text alerts to compatible mobile phones. The Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts are sent through the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System, the national warning and warning infrastructure managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
