Omaha police and Nebraska police officers assist an officer

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a call for help Thursday night. Nebraska police said they needed help locating the suspect in a shooting. The person being sought is 42-year-old Jason Davenport. He was described as a white male, 6 feet 3 inches tall and 175 pounds. At around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a residence near 30th and Jefferson streets to locate Davenport, who was a suspect in another investigation. Officers said there was also an active warrant for his arrest. As officers approached the residence, Davenport came out and fired a handgun. Several officers and an Omaha police officer responded and fired their weapons at Davenport. A patrol car was struck by gunfire in the incident. Officers said Davenport took a woman who was inside the residence hostage as he fled the scene in a gray Ford Fusion. Officers pursued him but lost sight of him in nearby Upland Park. They said Davenport may have been injured during the exchange of gunfire. SWAT has been activated and officers are actively searching for Davenport. All surrounding police forces and hospitals in Nebraska and Iowa are aware of the incident and are to be on the lookout for him. Police said no officers or policemen were injured in the incident. Officers said if anyone knows of Davenport’s whereabouts to call 911 immediately. He is considered armed and dangerous. The person being sought is 42-year-old Jason Davenport.

He was described as a white male, 6’3″ tall and weighing 175 pounds.

At around 8:15 p.m., police officers responded to a residence near 30th and Jefferson Streets to locate Davenport, who was a suspect in another investigation.

Police said there was also an arrest warrant out for him.

As police approached the residence, Davenport came out and fired a gun.

Several patrol officers and an Omaha police officer responded and fired their weapons at Davenport.

During the incident, a patrol car was hit by gunfire.

According to police, Davenport took a woman who was in the house hostage as he fled the scene in a gray Ford Fusion.

Police pursued him but lost sight of him in nearby Upland Park.

They said Davenport may have been injured in the shootout.

The SWAT team has been activated and officers are actively searching for Davenport.

All surrounding police departments and hospitals in Nebraska and Iowa are aware of the incident and should be on alert.

According to police, no police officers or soldiers were injured in the incident.

Police said anyone with information about Davenport’s whereabouts should call 911 immediately.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

A large police presence is still investigating in the area and the area will remain cordoned off for some time throughout the night.
