Lincoln Police and Maine Funeral Home Meet as Criminal Investigation into Lamson Funeral Home Continues

LINCOLN, Maine (WABI) – Lincoln police said one of their detectives met with the Maine Board of Funeral Services on Thursday to initiate “the next steps in the criminal investigation” into Lamson Funeral Home.

Lincoln Police say they continue to receive multiple complaints daily related to the case against Harold “Chip” Lamson, who is already charged with two counts of theft. The allegations against Lamson involve misuse of funeral fund funds.

Officers say that although they always pick up the phone, they have found that not all calls concern police matters.

Depending on your question or the circumstances, you may get the information you need more quickly if you transfer your call to another party. Here is guidance from the Lincoln Police Department:

· Bowers Funeral Home: For inquiries regarding upcoming funerals, spring burials, and active funeral trusts for the Lincoln location only, please call Bowers Funeral Home at 207-532-5333.

· Millinocket Location Funeral Trusts: If you have any questions about funeral trusts located in Millinocket, please contact the financial institution listed on the trust for more information.

· Lamson’s Funeral Home: If you have any concerns related to funeral services provided by Lamson’s Funeral Home in Lincoln or East Millinocket involving the misuse of funeral funds, please notify the Lincoln Police Department by emailing Detective Stewart Jacobs at [email protected] or any East Millinocket Police Department officer at 207-746-3555.

Since the investigation is still ongoing, officials are not releasing any further details at this time.
