Drew Gordon, a well-traveled professional basketball player and older brother of Denver Nuggets starter Aaron Gordon, died in a car crash on Thursday, his agent told ESPN. He was 33.

The Nuggets confirmed the news and expressed their support for Gordon’s brother and his three children.

The big man played nine games in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers, but his career was so much more. In addition to the NBA and G League, Gordon played in leagues in Serbia, Italy, Turkey, France, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Japan.

Gordon began his college career as a four-star recruit by Rivals, transferring from San Jose to UCLA where he immediately got playing time, ending midway through his sophomore year when he left the team and transferred to New Mexico.

That career in New Mexico was more productive, with him being named All-Conference twice and being named MVP of the 2012 Mountain West Tournament. In his senior year, he averaged a double-double with 13.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

After going undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft, Gordon played in the Dallas Mavericks’ summer league and then began a 12-year professional career. He made it to the NBA in 2014 by parlaying a stint in the Sixers’ summer league into a month-long stint in the middle of the regular season.

Gordon has also become a star elsewhere, being named an All-Star in France and Russia and winning the Italian Cup in 2014.

Gordon’s brother Aaron began his career as a five-star player in college basketball, was selected fourth overall in 2014 and won the NBA championship with the Denver Nuggets last season. Gordon was there to celebrate with him.
