16-year-old girl killed by stepfather, authorities believe – NBC Boston

Investigators believe a 16-year-old girl was shot dead by her stepfather in a murder-suicide on Thursday afternoon in Acton, Massachusetts.

The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office said police responded to a report that the teenager had been kidnapped around 4 p.m.

Officers found the victim and 49-year-old Julianao Santana dead from gunshot wounds in Santana’s car.

The victim reported in 2021 that Santana had sexually abused her. He was arrested on September 7 of the same year on six counts of aggravated rape of a child.

Santana was released by Malden District Court on $30,000 bail and on the condition of GPS monitoring. Police found Santana with the GPS device on Thursday after contacting his probation officer.

He was also ordered to stay away from the victim, to have no contact with her, and to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

The victim had obtained a restraining order against Santana, whose trial was scheduled to take place on July 29. Investigators believe she was walking near her home after school when Santana kidnapped her.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, the case is still being investigated.
