33-year-old former Sixers player dies in tragic accident

Former NBA player Drew Gordon has tragically passed away.

On Thursday night, Shams Charania of The Athletic announced the death of Gordon, the brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon.

“Drew Gordon has died in a car accident at the age of 33. Gordon played nine games for the 76ers during the 2014-15 season and played professionally in the U.S. and abroad since his college days at New Mexico and UCLA. Drew is the older brother of Nuggets F Aaron Gordon. RIP.”

ESPN’s Marc Spears confirmed Charania’s report.

Former NBA forward Drew Gordon, the brother of Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, died today in a car crash in Portland, Oregon, his agent Calvin Andrews confirmed to ESPN Andscape. The San Jose native, who played at UCLA and New Mexico, was 33 years old.

Fans and media took to social media to honor Gordon after his death.

So sad about Drew Gordon. Just 33 years old. Terrible news.

Was a damn good player and a great kid. Started his college career at UCLA before transferring to New Mexico. Had a long career overseas.
