Woman attacked after telling group not to jump over pool fence

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – Samantha Milbee says it was going to be a perfect Memorial Day with family and friends at the pool until a group of people jumped over the pool fence and the holiday took a violent turn.

“It gives me goosebumps just thinking about how disgusting that was,” Milbee said. “My neighbors said there were about nine teenagers and two adults. They were stomping on my head, on my face. They were kicking me.”

Milbee tells KFOR that management at Meadow Townhomes, near Alameda Street and 12 Avenue SE in Norman, is strict about enforcing pool rules, so when she saw a group jumping the fence and not wearing the required wristbands, she spoke up.

“I was like, ‘Man, can’t you guys climb over our fence?'” Milbee said. “There was nothing offensive about it.”

Before she knew it, Milbee was beaten.

“They threw her on the sidewalk and started stomping on her head,” said Derrick John, Milbee’s son.

He ran to get help and the neighbors called the police.

“I was scared,” John said. “I was almost not paralyzed, but I didn’t know what to do.”

Milbee has a concussion, burst blood vessels and scratches.

According to a Norman Police report, arrest warrants have been issued for two minors and 39-year-old Amanda Kelley.

Police confirmed to KFOR that they are not looking for any other suspects. However, Milbee wants to warn everyone about the danger posed by this group.

“I know it was mainly the girls who started the attack, but it was everyone… Everyone was involved.”

The police report states that the three suspects are accused of assault.
