Udaipur: A minor in Patan area of ​​Banswara district was allegedly held hostage for 2.5 months, raped and later abandoned at her father’s house. The girl battled for life in hospital for four days but died on Monday. Banswara Superintendent of Police Harshwardhan Agrawal said it was not a case of abduction as the girl and the accused were living together for more than two months and the girl’s parents knew about it. “The family had claimed that there were bruises on the minor’s body, but these were not found during investigation. The girl was also said to have suffered from epilepsy. The girl is a minor and the rape has been proven,” Agarwal said. “The main accused was arrested on Wednesday afternoon,” the Superintendent of Police added. The report filed by the girl’s father stated that Rahul Katara, a resident of Thummath village of Kushalgarh town under Patan police station, and his four companions kidnapped the minor from her house two months ago. They took her hostage and raped her. When her condition deteriorated, they took her away on a bike on May 23 and fled after leaving her in the courtyard of the house.
