“Rapist with bad breath” has to go to prison after 17 years on the run

A sex offender known as the “bad breath rapist” who fled during his trial in Massachusetts in 2007 only to be convicted in absentia has been caught in California nearly two decades later.

Tuen Kit Lee, now 55, kidnapped a woman and stabbed her in her home near Boston, but managed to escape before the jury reached a verdict in his trial.

He evaded prosecution for nearly 17 years, but police kept the case alive through media appeals, including publishing his photograph on the television show America’s Most Wanted.
