Suspect arrested after stabbing at Chinook Centre

Calgary police arrested a man at the Chinook CTrain station Thursday morning following a stabbing at the nearby Chinook Centre.

At 11:40 a.m., police responded to a situation at the mall after reports that a person had been stabbed near one of the entrances.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance. Police did not know the extent of the injuries and said the person’s condition was unknown.

The suspect, who was found at the LRT station after fleeing the scene, suffered minor injuries in the attack, officials said.

Police said investigations are ongoing.
