A violent criminal was FINALLY arrested 16 years after his conviction. And it turns out he was living among us the whole time!

In the year 2005, Tuen Kit Lee broke into a co-worker’s home in Massachusetts, tied her to a bed, and raped her while wearing a ski mask to conceal his identity. But incredibly, the woman was able to identify him based on the foul breath she apparently smelled while working together. His identity was later confirmed as a match in a subsequent DNA test, and he was dubbed the “Bad Breath Rapist,” according to the report. Massachusetts State PoliceHe was officially convicted of rape and kidnapping in 2007, according to US Marshals Servicebut it was too late – he had already fled the state after posting bail of $100,000. And he has been living without a trace for 16 years… But crime doesn’t pay and the consequences always catch up with you!

According to a press release from the MSP, Tuen was arrested in California in a joint operation by VFAS subwaythe United States Marshals Service Boston, Quincy PD and that Regional Task Force for Refugees in the Pacific Southwest Northern California on Tuesday. Apparently, MSP investigators learned of a fugitive living in Diablo in a multimillion-dollar home owned by a flower shop owner – aka the girlfriend he was with for 15 of the 16 years he was on the run! Photos on social media helped further identify Tuen, and on Tuesday Danville Police Department Police officers stopped the convict and his girlfriend during a traffic stop after conducting surveillance of their home. Tuen initially gave a false name, but eventually confessed to his real name, which is associated with his crime. Subsequent fingerprinting confirmed his identity.

WOW!

He is currently being held at the Danville Police Department awaiting transport back to Massachusetts, where he faced a life sentence for his conviction 16 years ago.

How WILD that he lived a normal life under the radar all these years… and even cheated on his long-term girlfriend! According to MSP, she had no idea about Tuen’s violent past and conviction! WTF! It’s not clear if he gave her the same fake name he first wanted to give to police, but that just sends chills down our spines… Ugh. That poor woman. We’re so glad to see him caught after all these years. More on that (below):
