62-year-old woman killed in car crash in Alleghany County

Virginia State Police report that a Greenville woman was killed in a car crash in Augusta County on Tuesday, May 28.

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police report a Greenville woman was killed in a car crash in Augusta County on Tuesday, May 28.

According to VSP, at approximately 5:50 p.m., 62-year-old Lennie G. Losh was traveling north on Route 11 with a passenger in a 2015 Toyota Tacoma when she drove off the right side of the road near Peyton Hill Road. Losh oversteered and drove off the left side of the road, striking two signs, causing the truck to overturn.


Officials said Losh died at the scene of the accident. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The passenger, James W. Earhart, was also not wearing a seatbelt and suffered serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. WFXR News will update this story as more information becomes available.
