Mumbai: Father arrested for raping and impregnating his underage daughter

The police have arrested a man who allegedly raped his minor daughter, who then became pregnant. The crime came to light because of the pregnancy. The police have filed charges against the father for rape and under the POCSO Act.

According to police, the victim lives with her father and grandmother in a suburb of Mumbai. She complained of abdominal pain and was taken to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra for a check-up. During the check-up, it was found that she was pregnant.

When questioned about the pregnancy, the girl stated that her father had raped her. A police officer confirmed that the girl’s father has a criminal past, including cases of theft and rape.

The official stated that the accused father was released from prison in November 2023 and has been raping the girl on a daily basis since then. Due to his criminal tendencies, his wife does not live with him. Only the minor girl and the accused’s mother live in the house.
