Police investigation into suspect leads to several arrests on various charges | Local

COOS BAY, Oregon — A suspicious person investigation by Coos Bay Police resulted in seven arrests Thursday morning on charges that included theft and dumping of trash, according to Coos Bay Police.

CBPD officials said officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 600 block of North Bayshore Drive around 6:30 a.m. on May 29. Police found the suspect and several others near a museum in the 1200 block of North Front Street and the group was associated with an RV and a Dodge van, authorities said. Police said an investigation of both vehicles revealed the van was stolen and then allegedly purchased by another person who then traded it for the RV. Several items belonging to the vehicle’s owner were found nearby and discarded in the bay, CBPD officials said. Authorities said the owner’s property was seized and both vehicles were towed from the scene.







Coos Bay has unloaded goods in the port area

Three suspects, identified as Sheri Harris, 35, of North Bend, Nichole Stewart, 45, of Coos Bay, and Ernest Moye, 49, of Eugene, were arrested and face charges of littering, police said. Coos Bay police officials said four suspects, identified as Scott Denardo, 49, Lindsay Wright, 31, Joseph Boracci, 53, and John Rabey, 45, all of Coos Bay, were arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and first-degree theft. Rabey was also arrested on two Douglas County Sheriff’s Office warrants, including drug possession, failure to carry and display a driver’s license and failure to appear in court. Rabey was taken to the Coos County Jail, where he remains in custody. His bail was set at $200,000, according to authorities and jail records.

According to authorities, the City of Coos Bay Public Works Department has cleared trash from the shoreline.
