AKG lowers parking prices as work continues around its campus this summer

BUFFALO, NY — The City of Buffalo Department of Public Works is preparing to begin construction in the area around the AKG Art Museum and campus.

For this reason, AKG will offer visitors lower than normal parking fees due to the inconvenience the work may cause to visitors traveling to and from the museum.

The price for museum members will remain the same at $8 for 3 hours, and the price for non-members will increase from $20 for 2 hours to $12 for 3 hours.

According to a press release from the AKG, “During the construction period, there will be no pedestrian access to the portion of the campus located within the perimeter of the construction fence. The City’s ongoing work will not interrupt or disrupt Buffalo AKG’s planned summer programming, including the Lipsey Summer Jazz Series. or use of the east patio of the Seymour H. Knox Building.

These new rates will continue after the work is completed, as the museum has decided to make them permanent to add to the many new improvements underway. Some other improvements include turf restoration, asphalt trails, park lighting, etc.
