Side crash involving patrol car on Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita leaves three injured

SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 30, 2024) – Three people were injured in a side-on-side crash at Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road in Santa Clarita Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred on May 29 at approximately 12:15 p.m. According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a deputy from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station was driving north on Bouquet Canyon Road with his lights and siren on when a civilian driver entered the intersection and struck the side of the patrol unit.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll over at least twice before landing upright.

The patrol officer, who was alone in the patrol car at the time of the accident, had been alerted to a burglary report near the intersection of Skyline Ranch Road and Malabar Street. He was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with injuries of an undetermined extent.

Two other people were also taken to hospital and handed over to family members.

The investigation into this crash is still ongoing.
