Mostly sunny today; the chance of rain increases on Friday

(KFVS) – Today appears to be the last day of our comfortable and dry pattern before it turns into a choppy trend.

The sky remains predominantly sunny with low humidity.

Maximum temperatures in the afternoon are around 80 degrees.

Friday will be increasingly cloudy with a chance of showers until sunset.

New models call for some showers to move into southeast Missouri by Friday afternoon, and showers and some thunderstorms to spread from west to east Friday night into Saturday.

The coming week is expected to be warmer, wetter and more unstable.

Meteorologist Brian Alworth says the models are having trouble timing the individual disturbances, but Saturday looks wetter, Sunday drier, and a bit of an up-and-down trend for the start of next week.

A cold front on Wednesday is likely to change this trend and bring drier weather for the second half of next week.
