‘Person of interest’ questioned after woman found dead in Laval forest

Laval police questioned a 20-year-old man Wednesday evening after a woman was found dead in a local park.

A 911 call at around 7:35 p.m. reported the presence of a seriously injured woman in Armand-Frappier Woods in the Chomedey borough. Officers found the victim and attempted to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly afterwards, based on information from the public, the police were able to locate a 20-year-old man not far from the crime scene, arrest him and question him last night. They described him as a “person of interest”.

Last night, witnesses were questioned and police set up a scene at the crime scene.

Also on Wednesday evening, a 27-year-old man was gunned down on a basketball court in Lachine. The murder is the 17th this year on the island of Montreal.
