Newark woman accused of raping victim under 17 in 2023

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — A Newark woman has been arrested for the alleged rape of a minor, according to Newark police.

Christina J. Austin, 29, was accused of raping a victim under the age of 15. The alleged incident occurred sometime between February 2023 and March 2023. Due to the victim’s age, police have not released any further details.

Austin was arrested at her Colton Avenue home on Tuesday and charged with second- and third-degree rape. The second-degree rape charge is due to the victim’s age.

She was arraigned in Wayne County Superior Court and released on her own bond. Her next court date is June 18, 2024.
