Flack Broadcasting – LifeNet Helicopter called to ATV accident in Lewis County over Memorial Day weekend

GREIG- According to emergency officials, a rescue helicopter was called following an off-road vehicle accident over the holiday weekend in Lewis County.

In the weekly DEC Forest Ranger Highlights, officials report that Ranger Evans rushed to the scene of an ATV accident involving personal injury.

It happened Sunday afternoon near the intersection of VanArnum and Brantingham Road in the town of Greig.

Ranger Evans applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding from the suspect’s lower leg.

The New York State Police, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, and 3-G and Brantingham fire departments also responded.

The patient was transported by Lewis County Search and Rescue ambulance to a nearby LifeNet airfield for air transport.
