4 players the Atlanta Falcons can’t afford to lose to injury in 2024

Lost in the myriad of 2023 Atlanta Falcons storylines was the impact that was felt when this defense lost Grady Jarrett. The drop in play was clear and Atlanta did not have the depth necessary to recover. Although the team has much better depth, you still can’t replace the veteran and his impact at the line of scrimmage.

Look at Atlanta’s games over the last three years and just focus on Grady Jarrett on defense. Even though it ages, the impact and efforts remain. Jarrett is severely underrated in this league due to the lack of elite passers around him.

An opposing offense understands Jarrett’s impact and will put their best protection against the veteran. Seeing Jarrett double-teamed is a common occurrence and the rest of Atlanta’s defensive line can rarely make the offensive line pay. This will still be true this season if the veteran manages to stay healthy.

With the lack of additions Atlanta has made the Jarrett edge rusher upside for this team remains high. Atlanta’s defense has many question marks that have gone unanswered this offseason. Jarrett’s return and playing at a high level is essential if Atlanta has any hope of having a balanced roster.
