To get to the bottom of the Porsche accident in Pune, which has seen numerous twists and turns since it surfaced, the criminal investigation department officials are planning a “digital reconstruction” of the accident scene using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools.

The case concerns the 17-year-old son of a renowned real estate developer from Pune, who on May 19 allegedly hit two young software developers while driving his Porsche Taycan too fast while under the influence of alcohol.

A senior official quoted by Indian Times A report states that a highly trained cyber expert will design the digital reconstruction of the crime scene with utmost precision, leveraging the power of sophisticated AI-based software. All the details of the crime scene will be carefully fed into the software to create a digital representation of the crime scene.

“The complex movements of the vehicles, the exact number of people present on the road, the breathtaking speed of the Porsche and countless other crucial factors will be carefully taken into account in the comprehensive reconstruction of the crime scene,” the official said.

“Since the accused is a minor, he cannot be brought to the crime scene in person. Valuable information from the forensic department will also be seamlessly incorporated,” the official added.

It also recreates the route from the teenager’s house to Cosie restaurant and then to Blak Club in Mundhwa area and from the club to Kalyani Nagar area, where the accident occurred on May 19.

The teenager had been partying at the Cosie restaurant and the Blak Club before crashing his luxury car into a motorcycle, killing two people.

According to reports, the police have collected extensive video footage of the minor defendant’s route to the accident scene, which should be of great assistance in digitally reconstructing the accident scene.

Meanwhile, police officials also revealed that Pune police have been inundated with three separate complaints against the father of the minor accused in different cases.
