Buffalo Co. deputy’s dashcam captures storm’s fury | State News

The sheriff’s office posted a short clip of the video on its Facebook page. It shows the Lizzy Paul Wayside parking lot around 6:18 p.m. on May 21. That’s when the tornado passed south of the police car and deputy. The EF1 tornado had winds up to 90 mph.



NEAR COCHRANE, Wis. (WXOW) – The intensity of last week’s storm is visible on a Buffalo County Sheriff’s deputy’s dash cam.

The sheriff’s office posted a short clip of the video on its Facebook page.

It shows the Lizzy Paul Wayside parking area around 6:18 p.m. on May 21.

That’s when the tornado passed south of the police car and deputy.

The EF1 tornado had winds up to 90 mph.

As it traveled its four-mile path, it toppled trees, power lines and several farm buildings.

Along with the video, the sheriff’s office showed a photo of the passenger side of the police car covered in grass.
