Woman raped multiple times in hospital incident – ​​News Karnataka

In a shocking incident, a woman from Kasargod, who was initially admitted to one hospital and later shifted to another, was repeatedly raped. The victim lodged a complaint at the Mangaluru East police station on May 15, 2024, describing the gruesome ordeal in detail.

According to the complaint, the victim was admitted to a hospital for fistula treatment on March 13, 2024, accompanied by a person named Sujith. While in room no. 48 of the hospital, Sujith raped the victim on March 16, 2024, at around 8 pm and took nude photographs of her using his mobile phone.

Sujith then forced the victim to accompany him to Mangaluru on April 4, where he kept her locked up in the Maharaja Residency Hotel from April 4 to April 8. During this period, he continued to threaten and rape her. Later, the victim was admitted to another hospital on April 8 for treatment of food poisoning and remained there until May 10. Sujith allegedly raped her multiple times during her hospital stay and threatened her with the nude photographs he had taken earlier.

A police case was registered under Crime No. 76/24, Sections 376, 506 and 149 IPC.

The accused, Sujith K, son of Ravindran Nair of Kodavalam, Pullur village, Hosadurga taluk, Kerala, has been arrested and produced before the court. The investigation is ongoing.
