Court hears Oxford man charged with raping man last year

Borgahan Gumussoy, of Crescent Road, Oxford, appeared before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (28 May) charged with rape.

The alleged incident occurred in Oxford on June 23 last year. The details of the alleged crime are not yet known and the alleged victim’s name cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.

The 29-year-old must now appear at Oxford Crown Court at 10am on June 27 to attend a vow and trial preparation hearing as the offence is only an indictment.

A trial date could be set at the next hearing.
