Traffic warning issued ahead of busy weekend in Lexington

Lexington Police issue a traffic alert ahead of a busy weekend in Lexington.

Several events will be taking place throughout Lexington from Thursday through Sunday. Residents should expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic, especially in the event areas. Anyone traveling to the events or to the event areas should exercise extreme caution and allow sufficient time to reach their destination safely.

When officers are on the scene, drivers and pedestrians should follow all officer instructions and all posted traffic signs and signals.

Below is a list of some events taking place in Lexington.

Fayette County Public Schools Graduation Ceremonies

  • Location: Rupp Arena in the Central Bank Center
  • Dates: Thursday, May 30th and Friday, May 31st

Railbird Festival

  • Location: Red Mile
  • Dates: Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd

2024 NCAA Lexington Regional Baseball Games

  • Location: Kentucky Proud Park
  • Dates: Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1
