FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A man from Denmark will spend more than a decade behind bars after traveling to Fresno to sexually abuse a child.

A judge sentenced 59-year-old Claus Marcuslund on Tuesday to 14 years in prison followed by 15 years probation for distributing child pornography images.

In July 2023, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that Marcuslund was arrested in Fresno.

“To vindicate victims of child exploitation and bring perpetrators to justice, our law enforcement and our communities must work in partnership across county, state and national lines,” said U.S. Attorney Talbert. “Our office is committed to protecting our children and is committed to holding perpetrators accountable.”

A covert operation on the dark web in January 2023 led agents to Marcuslund when he made contact with a person he believed to be the mother of a 7-year-old girl.

But it was an agent posing as the woman.

Marcuslund described himself to the agent as a professional music producer in Denmark and a pedophile.
