Man charged with rape and sexual assault

JONESBORO, Arkansas (KAIT) – Police have arrested a Jonesboro man after they say he sexually assaulted two victims.

Craighead County District Court Judge David Boling found on Wednesday, May 29, that there was sufficient probable cause to charge 51-year-old William Yarbrough with second-degree rape and sexual assault.

On Saturday, May 25, Jonesboro police interviewed two people who said they had been sexually abused by Yarbrough in the past.

According to the affidavit, one victim said Yarbrough encouraged her to perform sexual acts in exchange for money.

The other victim said she had been sexually abused by Yarbrough several times before, police said.

The affidavit states that Yarbrough later admitted to sexually abusing the first victim and was arrested.

On May 29, Judge Boling sentenced Yarbrough to $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday, July 26.
