Phenom Commitment Alert: 2025 Sadiq White commits to Syracuse

Any time Phenom Hoops can report on the signing of a player we have seen over the years, it is a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal of playing at the next level and it is a great accomplishment for the individual player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Sadiq White
Graduation year: 2025
Location: Syracuse

More about his game and what he brings:

White is such an interesting prospect and I’m excited to see what he can do for Syracuse and in the ACC. He’s a 6’10 prospect who has an incredible balance of length, skill and athleticism in his game. White is someone who can make an immediate impact on defense as he alternates shots and can really make a difference when controlling the basket. That was something he noticed right away at a young age and he’s only continued to improve his overall game. With his swing and athleticism, he excels at running down the court and finishing at the basket but has continued to show the ability to operate from multiple positions on the court. White is at his best when running from basket to basket and using his leaping ability to his advantage. However, he also shows the ability to make plays off the jump, step out and sink shots and shows he’s comfortable in many other areas. And he’s fluid enough to be disruptive from multiple positions. He should be able to thrive on both sides in the coming years and become an impact player for the Orange as he continues to do more, get stronger, and adapt to the ACC.

What was said:

“The 6’1″, leggy and athletic prospect has put on a show of what he can do on the court: a dominant force on both ends. His ability to run down the court, use his length to finish at the basket, block shots and protect the basket, and being a force that moves exceptionally well are all things that make him so unique and compelling. White is at his best when he can show off his outstanding athleticism as a forward, when he dominates and is faster than others, and when he shows his strength when he outruns defenders at the basket and protects the basket. But you can see him continuing to grow and diversify his game, showing his ability to step up, make plays off the jump, create for himself, and be used in a variety of ways on both ends of the court. He continues to progress while excelling at what he does best. That’s why he’s such a unique prospect because his game already excites you, but there’s so much room for growth.”

“There were plenty of tantalizing top players to watch, but White was arguably in a class of his own in terms of intrigue. Already a big, agile 6-foot-4 player, he has an incredible skill set and the ability to actively switch between inside and outside positions. White handled the ball, made smart passes and showed athleticism and versatility on both ends of the court. He’s great in transition, both with and without the ball in his hands, and finishes well when attacking the basket. While already impressive, White is just beginning to realize his long-term potential. If he keeps up the pace, White could realistically be a star in the near future.”

“Watching White play, it’s hard to understand how a 6’10” junior can move so well and he will draw you in. He is extremely athletic for his size and moves/runs extremely well around the court. He really shows off his ability to finish at the basket and there aren’t many to test him there. But he also has tremendous power in his game; his quick second jump to match his length sometimes makes White look like he’s floating above the competition and just snapping the ball over opponents. He has continued to add new elements to his game and we fully expect that to continue throughout the year and for his confidence to continue to grow as well.”
