Suspect arrested for child abuse in South Buffalo

A suspect was arrested Sunday on four counts related to sexual abuse of a child, Buffalo police reported Wednesday.

Antonio Vives, 19, of Buffalo, was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual conduct against a child and first-degree criminal sexual act, all class B felonies; and first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony. He is currently incarcerated at the Erie County Detention Center.

According to the report, the arrest followed a call around 3:45 p.m. Sunday informing Southern District officers of several instances of child abuse on Bloomfield Avenue by someone known to the victim. The investigation by detectives from the Special Victims Unit continues.
