Deputies arrest couple after brief investigation

Officers with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of suspicious activity in a vehicle on the road in a residential neighborhood around 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Valencia and found a couple surrounded by drug paraphernalia in a car, station officials said.

Officers received a call late this morning from the 23,000 block of Via Andorra, just north of Avenida Rotella, regarding a woman possibly dealing drugs in a vehicle.

Officers arrived at the address and made contact with a 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman who were in the vehicle.

“Officers detained both until drug paraphernalia was clearly visible,” said an email from Deputy Kabrina Borbon of the SCV Sheriff’s Station. “During the investigation, officers seized drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine.”

Both suspects received summonses in connection with their booking offenses involving the substances allegedly found by officers.

“They were both arrested and booked into the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station,” Borbon added. “They were both released with summons to appear in court at a later date.”
