Delaware County man charged with sodomy and possession of child pornography

NOTE: At the time of publication of this article, authorities did not have a mug shot of Jeffery Campbell.

MUNCIE, Ind. – A Muncie man who was on parole for previous sex crimes was arrested and charged with four felonies following an investigation into child pornography depicting sex with animals.

Jeffery Wayne Campbell, 31, was released from prison on parole in April after being convicted of previous sex crimes against children. Now Campbell has been arrested again on multiple charges of child pornography and sodomy.

According to Indiana State Police, a search warrant was executed Wednesday morning in the 2000 block of W. Woodmont Drive following an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation that began May 8 after members received a tip that Cambell was involved in child pornography.

Various law enforcement agencies, including ISP, SWAT, ICAC and IDOC, assisted in executing the warrant that led to Campbell’s arrest. The 31-year-old Muncie resident was subsequently booked into the Delaware County Jail on the following charges:

  • Possession of child pornography depicting sodomy – Level 4 felony
  • Possession of child pornography of a child under 12 years of age – Level 5 felony
  • Possession of Child Pornography – Level 6 Felony
  • Sodomy – Level 6 Serious Crime
  • Arrest warrant for violation of probation conditions
    • “Campbell was scheduled to be released in April 2024 due to a sex crime conviction,” ISP said.

As of 5 p.m. Wednesday, online court records had not been updated and did not show an initial hearing date in Campbell’s case.

No further information was immediately provided by police. FOX59/CBS4 has requested additional court documents. More information on the ICAC task force can be found here.
