Buffalo man sentenced to 12 years in prison for shooting woman in North Buffalo apartment

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision for shooting a woman in a Delaware Avenue apartment.

Jamin Haygood, also known as “Scrap,” was sentenced Wednesday in State Supreme County.

According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Haygood shot Jacquette Holley in the head with an illegal shotgun in May 2023. Holley, 51, died at the scene.

Haygood pleaded guilty in March to one count of first-degree manslaughter (class “B” violent felony).
