Man charged with alleged rape of 14-year-old girl

(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is accused of raping a young girl.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim left her home on Sunday evening and was sitting near Lake George under the 9th Avenue Bridge, where she was approached by a man later identified as Austin Nathaniel Ouellette.

She says he asked her if she wanted a cigarette and asked her to come with him. The two are seen on city surveillance camera together at the locations the victim described. They went to a nearby house and then to the 26-year-old man’s home in the 600 block of 9th Avenue South.

The 14-year-old said they went to Ouellette’s bedroom to watch a scary movie. According to court documents, after the movie, he lay on top of the teen and began kissing her. The victim said Ouellette told her that if she said anything, he would hurt her or her family.

Ouellette allegedly removed the girl’s clothing and raped her. After the alleged sexual assault, the child was able to escape the house and went to a relative’s home. She was then taken to CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital for evaluation.

According to court documents, Ouellette admitted in a Mirandized statement to meeting the victim and said he had sex with her.

He is accused of two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
Prosecutors have filed a motion for an aggravated sentence, which would allow the state to impose a longer prison term if convicted.
