Liberal police ask for help in investigation into ongoing shooting

LIBERAL, Kansas (KSNW) – Liberal Police are asking for the public’s help in the ongoing investigation into a shooting that occurred on May 9.

According to LPD, officers responded to a shooting in the 800 block of W. Maple St. at 2:53 p.m.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old man who had been shot.

He was taken to a local medical center and later flown to a hospital in Wichita for treatment.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the LPD at 620-626-0141.

The LPD says it will provide an update as soon as one is available.

The Liberal Fire Department, Seward County Sheriff’s Office, Seward County EMS and Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
