Andalusian woman and ex-husband die in murder-suicide

DOTHAN, Alabama (WDHN) – Two people are dead after a murder-suicide over the weekend in northern Covington County.

On Sunday, May 26, Covington County officers, along with Andalusia and Gantt police, rushed to a home on Stillman Road after receiving a call from a woman named Cindi Jordan who was “in great distress.” Contact with Jordan was lost shortly after the call.

According to Sheriff Blake Turman, officers found Jordan dead when they arrived at the scene.

In a press release, Turman said Jordan’s ex-husband, Robert Ribarin Sr., broke into her home and killed her before taking his own life.

According to court documents, Ribarin Sr. and Jordan married in late 2015. Jordan filed for divorce after claiming they had grown apart, which had affected the marriage. The divorce was finalized in mid-February.

“This was a tragic event and completely uncalled for,” said Sheriff Turman. “Thank you to everyone who helped, and please keep our citizens in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this loss.”
