Here is a list of places to cool off other than the public pool.

ATLANTA — As temperatures begin to warm up as June approaches, we’re putting together a comprehensive list of free public pools, splash pads and fountains across Atlanta.

Check out the list below for free pools, splash pads and fountains throughout the city, along with their hours and locations.

Anti-splash pads

This paddling pool includes several sprayers built into the ground with a water tunnel. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to September.

Or: 2305 Donald Lee Hollowell Drive.

This pad is located at Rodney Cook Sr. Park, which opened in 2021 in Atlanta’s Vine City neighborhood. The 16-acre park includes the pad as well as a fountain, streams, playground and more. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to September.

DH Stanton Park and Splash ‘N Play

The splash pad here is part of the city’s first solar-powered park. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to October 1. There are water cannons and numerous sprayers.

Where: 213 Haygood Avenue, SE

A small but mighty splash pad is located in southwest Atlanta. The park is named after civil rights activist James “Shackdaddy” Edward Orange. He worked as an aide to Martin Luther King Jr. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to September.

Where: 1305 Oakland Dr., SW

Historic Fourth Ward Waterpark

Located on the Atlanta Beltline, the splash park spans 17 acres with trails, a playground and rental bikes.. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to October 1.

Perkerson Park Water Park

This park’s splash pad was installed through the efforts of Atlanta City Council member Joyce Shepherd of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, surrounded by sculptures by local artist Maria Artemis. It is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to October 1.

Fountains

This fountain has bright colors with programmable jets. It’s on the Battery, so there are plenty of places to shop, eat or drink in the surrounding area.

Duluth City Green Fountain

In downtown Duluth, this fountain is the center of many of the city’s community events, like concerts and movie nights.

Their fountain is open seven days a week, weather permitting, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

EE Robinson Park Fountain

This fountain is located in Gwinnett County, in a park. It’s interactive and open: Thursday to Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, from noon to 8 p.m.

Or: 650 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

Just like EE Robinson, this fountain is located in a park; Graves has a playground, football pitch and trail. The fountain is also interactive and open: Thursday to Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, from noon to 8 p.m.

Fountain inherited from Piedmont Park

Water can reach up to 30 feet in the air thanks to this fountain’s 70 jets. It can also achieve hundreds of lighting configurations.

The fountain is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Town Green in Downtown Alpharetta

This fountain is in front of the Alpharetta City Hall building, and according to comments on Facebook, it is full of children all the time. It is open anytime, any day. Alpharetta said they only close it when temperatures approach freezing.

Village Park in North Henry

About 30 minutes south of downtown Atlanta is an interactive fountain. The fountain is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The park also features an outdoor fitness circuit for children and adults, a 1.1-mile paved walking/jogging track, and an event lawn.
