Fatal car crash in Frankford under investigation

FRANKFORD, ENG — A tragic car crash claimed the life of a 45-year-old Frankford man Tuesday night, Delaware State Police said. The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. on Frankford School Road, south of Thatcher Street.

The deceased was driving a Honda Accord northbound when he lost control of the vehicle after a curve. The car went off the east side of the road, drove through grass, struck a fence and overturned in a ditch. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The road was closed for about three hours while the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Accident Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene. Authorities are still investigating the accident and are asking witnesses and anyone with additional information to come forward.
