Cyndi Lauper’s son, Declyn Lauper, has been accused of sexual assault in a new civil lawsuit filed by an anonymous woman.

According to legal documents obtained by The Mirror, the lawsuit alleges that Declyn, also known as Dex, “negligently, wantonly, recklessly, intentionally and knowingly attempted and attempted to sexually assault and abuse the plaintiff,” on the grounds that it was a violation of New York City’s Gender-Based Violence Victims Protection Act.

The woman claimed that Declyn invited her to his flat before confiscating her mobile phone, holding her down and demanding that she perform sexual acts on him. The plaintiff also claimed that he verbally abused her after the incident.

According to the plaintiff, Declyn apologized for the incident while she was waiting for her ride in his lobby. She claimed he tried to contact her afterward, but she never saw him again.

“The emotional and psychological damage Jane Doe suffered as a result of the attack cannot be overstated: it was profound and lasting,” the lawsuit continues. The woman told the New York Post: “After the attack, I began to panic. I felt that my life was truly in danger at that point.”

The plaintiff is seeking “damages to be determined at trial … (as) compensation for her physical injuries, pain and suffering, emotional distress, humiliation, embarrassment, stress and anxiety, loss of self-respect and self-confidence, and emotional pain and suffering.” As well as “punitive damages” that are “sufficient to deter the defendant from future illegal and/or wrongful conduct.”

Declyn is facing another lawsuit related to a dispute with his landlord over his rent-controlled New York apartment. According to court documents obtained by The Mirror, the property’s owner has attached a long list of alleged lease violations, including claims that “yelling, yelling and/or screaming (that) sounded very aggressive and was filled with explicit language and threats of physical harm” was heard coming from his apartment.

The owner claimed that Declyn continued to live in the apartment after his lease expired. They are demanding that Declyn and other residents be evicted and ordered to pay $7,210 in rent.

The Mirror contacted the victim’s representatives, Cyndi Lauper and Declyn Lauper.
