Massachusetts refugee known as “Bad Breath Rapist” arrested in Bay Area after 16 years on the run

DANVILLE, Calif. (KGO) – A Massachusetts fugitive known as the “Bad Breath Rapist,” who was on the run for 16 years, was arrested in the East Bay.

Tuen Kit Lee was arrested in Danville on Tuesday. He was found guilty of kidnapping and raping a young woman in Massachusetts, but fled during his trial in 2007.

The media had dubbed Lee the “rapist with bad breath” because that was how his victim could identify him.

Officials said images on social media earlier this year showed a man who investigators believe was Lee.

They linked these images to a house in Diablo.

Authorities confirmed Lee’s identity through his fingerprints.

He is being held in the East Bay awaiting extradition to Massachusetts.
