Driver killed in Fremont crash identified

FREMONT – A motorist who died May 21 when his car struck a tree, injuring a passenger, has been identified by authorities.

Juan Alvarez-Gallardo, 19, of Newark, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. on May 21 near the intersection of Fremont Boulevard and Thornton Avenue.
