Armed robbery leaves one dead

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Wichita Falls police were called Tuesday to investigate shootings on Calhoun and Wichita streets that resulted in the death of a man.

On May 28, at around 10:55 p.m., officers went to the intersection where they found four victims of an aggravated robbery.

The victims included three adults and a 16-year-old male who told officers they were attacked by two black men wearing hoodies. The suspects allegedly held up handguns and demanded the victims hand over their belongings.

A 23-year-old victim was shot during the incident and suffered two gunshot wounds. He was transported to United Regional Health Care System for immediate surgery.

According to WFPD spokesman Charlie Eipper, the victim later succumbed to his injuries and died on May 29.

The WFPD will release the name of this victim once his family has been notified.

Investigators from the WFPD’s Crimes Against the Persons Unit responded to the incident and, along with other investigators, collected possible names of suspects.

The police assure the public that they are safe.
