RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – Rutherford County experienced major traffic delays Wednesday morning due to several accidents on major highways. The first of three accidents was reported in the early morning hours on Interstate 24 near the South Church Street exit, initially causing delays and safety concerns. However, the accident was cleared by 7:45 a.m.

An hour after the debris from the I-24/South Church Street crash was cleared, another major accident occurred – this time on I-840 near Jefferson Pike. According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, a semi-truck collided with a concrete barrier in the eastbound lane around 9 a.m. The impact caused the truck to roll over and slide onto its side, eventually coming to a stop under the Jefferson Pike overpass. This accident required extensive cleanup and caused significant traffic congestion in the area.

At the same time, a third accident was reported on the New Nashville Highway, requiring a road closure. The details of this incident are still being released, but the road closure has added to the traffic woes faced by Rutherford County residents.

Authorities are urging drivers to be cautious and patient while cleanup and investigation operations continue. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes and stay informed of traffic conditions.
