Michigan woman orders dog to attack neighbor during argument

The dog bit the man several times in the arms and he was able to escape through a window to get help.

HUDSONVILLE, Michigan – A West Michigan woman ordered her dog to attack her neighbor during an argument over Memorial Day weekend, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said.

Some neighbors in the 5000 block of Chestnut Court in Hudsonville called the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, May 25, to report a man covered in blood.

Authorities said a bloodied man showed up at a neighbor’s house shortly before 2 a.m. asking for help because he had been bitten by a dog.

Investigators believe the 41-year-old victim lived nearby and got into a “domestic dispute” with 37-year-old Augustina Villarreal of Hudsonville.

The woman ordered her dog to attack the man and the dog bit him several times on the arms, officials said.

He was able to escape the attacking dog by escaping through a window. He went to another neighbor and got help.

Emergency services took him to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

Police arrested Villarreal for domestic violence and aggravated assault.

She was arraigned Tuesday in 58th District Court on charges of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

The judge sentenced her to $100,000 bail and she remains in the Ottawa County Jail.

The sheriff’s office said animal control is also investigating the attack and took the dog away on Tuesday. The dog is being held pending the outcome of the investigation.

Authorities are still investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to call the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or mosotips.com.
