Why is there traffic on the Mathews Bridge on Wednesday morning?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – According to the Florida Department of Transportation, all westbound lanes on the Mathews Bridge are currently closed due to a multi-vehicle crash.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said there were injuries in the accident and that the roadways would be closed for an “indefinite period of time.”

Drivers should use the Hart Bridge as a detour to get to downtown Jacksonville.
