An Independence, Missouri man died in a two-vehicle crash in Benton County on Monday, May 27.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) accident report, the accident occurred when 89-year-old William Gorman was traveling westbound and attempted to cross US-65 from Balke Road on a 2024 Can-Am Spyder three-wheeled motorcycle.

At 10:42 a.m., Gorman’s vehicle was struck by a southbound 2018 GMC Terrain, totaling the motorcycle. Gorman was pronounced dead by a doctor at the scene at 11:34 a.m.
