Investigations begin after large barn fire

An investigation is to be launched into a large barn fire in which firefighters found 45 burning bales of hay.

Northamptonshire Fire Service was called to the incident in Kings Cliffe shortly after 2pm (BST) on Tuesday.

Two fire engines from Corby attended the scene and emergency services are still on site to fully extinguish the fire.

Residents of King’s Cliffe have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed, the service said.

To stop the fire from spreading, the firefighters were also assisted by a water truck from Kettering.

The fire department said investigators would come to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
